When is it better to use Guards Dogs for Security?
There are certain times when the only real option is to use a patrol dog unit/dog handling team, i.e. a specifically security trained dog with their security guard/handler.
A patrol dog can identify a sound's location much faster than a human can, as well a shear sounds up to four times the distance that humans are able to; a patrol dog's sense of smell is approximately 36,000 times more powerful than a human's.
Patrol dogs offer the most effective deterrent against intruders. Vandals and persons looking to steal or damage goods and property will think twice knowing that they run the risk of coming up against one of our trained dog patrols.
Patrol dogs are psychologically demoralising to criminals; our dogs are trained to show controlled aggression against anyone who confronts their handler.
Areas of use include, but are not limited to, the following situations:
To protect large open areas (golf courses)
To patrol locations with a restricted line of site ( large construction projects, warehouses, transport yards, caravan parks, theme parks)
For areas too dangerous for security guards alone (gang related problems, underground car parks, high crime areas, prisons, events, etc.)
For protection of persons and property under threat.
Patrol dogs are trained to pick up on intruders or hidden persons by scent, sight or sound, to protect their handler by standing their ground and by showing controlled aggression.
All patrol dogs are trained to pick up and indicate to its handler the presence of a person in its patrol area. They are also trained to accept other people in their environment and to only react if a threat is made against their handler.
Patrol Dogs - A Formidable Psychological Deterrent
The handler and dog team presents a formidable psychological deterrent. The intruder knows that he cannot hide from the dog; he doesn't want to fight the dog... The dog does not bluff. Our guard dogs can work in the toughest environments and give their handlers absolute personal security.
When confronted with threatening behaviour the handler and dog team are able to detain a suspect until the authorities arrive to deal with the situation.
